We have an outbuilding that we refer to as the carport. It is a carport, but with a ground-level space that for years we used as Dan's office and an upstairs that houses my glass studio.
There is also a full bathroom and storage up there.
Over the years I've created a lot of glass art; lots of trees:
because I just can't stop with the trees. (There are many, many more tree landscapes, some of them in my online shop https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/SarahMillerGlass )
I've also repeatedly enjoyed creating glass versions of herons:
Now, I'm working on a heron that will be installed in the house.
This will be a blend of fused glass and stained glass. It's going into a short wall space to the left of the loft, and will have the option of being lit from behind. If you'd like to follow the progression of the piece, you can find it in the August 2023 posts here https://www.facebook.com/groups/SarahMillerGlassTutorials
This heron window will be a companion to the glass art that I created earlier this year, and installed on the wall space to the right of the loft.
Both of these pieces were created after we decided it was time to sell the house. Basically, I feel as if I'm working on gifts for the new owners.
